After the approval by the Council of Ministers of a Report on the Preliminary Draft Law for the promotion of emerging companies, entrepreneurs focused on sectors through mentoring or mentorship will be able to benefit from the new specific legislation for startups.
Both innovation and R&D&I gain weight in the Government’s plans for the future, also seeking to facilitate bureaucracy in this type of company.
With this, they seek, among other things, to stimulate investment and attract talent, thus avoiding the departure of young Spaniards who, once they have finished their studies, head abroad, thus conserving the talent that has been trained in our country. Another point to highlight from this approval is to favor collaboration between all companies of different sizes, promote R&D&I and encourage collaboration with Universities and research centers.
For this, entrepreneurs will be able to opt for a Corporate Tax rate reduced by ten points, standing at 15% up to a maximum of four years, starting the discount in the first tax period in which the tax base is positive and in the next three as long as it maintains start-up status.
There is another possibility, and that is that they have the possibility of requesting the deferral of the tax debt of the Corporation Tax or the Income Tax of non-residents in the first year in which the tax base is positive and in the following, with exemption of guarantees and without accrual of default interest, for a period of 12 to 6 months, respectively.
