PocketPiano is the startup that has created a piano with which you can travel by taking up little space. This portable instrument is slightly over 16 centimeters wide and reaches 131 centimeters long. The Catalan Josep Bergadà using Artificial Intelligence has developed this piano model to be able to take it anywhere, without having to have a lot of space.
Some four years of development by its creator and founder, together with the support of Eurecat and Jorquera Pianos, have given life to this innovative business idea that responds to a need posed by the market. The product description would be portable, detachable instrument or piano, made up of 10 parts that are joined by magnets, forming a professional piano with 87 keys and two pedals. Specifically, the box with which it is marketed has dimensions of 20x20x32 centimeters and a weight of 3.9 kg, in which the 10 disassembled modules and one of the pedals fit.
The dimensions of the keys of the portable piano are the same as those of a “grand piano” and its material allows the sound to be very similar. Any professional accustomed to traveling could have an instrument in their luggage, this is the public that would most demand this product.
The piano works controlled by bluetooth midi so that it can communicate with the devices. For the assembly, the controller module is used with the octaves that are needed, which are joined together by means of magnets, then the piano is coordinated from the smartphone, tablet or computer, through a DAW APP. In the future it is planned to develop its own APP.
